Corona havoc in Tirupati:

The entire Tirupati city containment area, total lockdown till 5 August, infected were found  in all 56 wards; The temple will remain open, but the universal ticket is closed.

Right now 1700 Corona positive in the city, 170 positive in Tirupati temple staff.

Heavy pressure on temple trust to stop darshan, currently only online time slot will be available for darshan.

Tirupati declared a containment zone till August 5

Total lockdown has been imposed till 5 August in Tirupati city of Andhra Pradesh. This decision has been taken in view of the growing Corona havoc in the city. However, during this time all the temples including Tirupati Balaji will remain open, their vehicles will also remain unchanged. In view of the lockdown in the city, Tirupati Trust has also stopped its offline Sarvadarshan ticket system for the time being. Now only online time slots will be available for darshan at the temple.

Almost the entire city of Tirupati has been declared as a Containment Zone. There are 20 to 30 corona patients in all 56 wards of Tirupati. In view of this, the administration has closed the city limits for external vehicles with immediate effect and locked the entire city till 5 August. During this time only essential services will continue. Temple vehicles will be able to come, as these vehicles mostly pass through the bypass road.

Here, the number of infected in the staff of Tirupati temple has reached 170. Since the death of former chief priest Srinivasa Dixitulu from Corona on Monday, the temple trust is also under heavy pressure to stop visiting the temple. Employees' organizations are constantly demanding that darshan be discontinued once again in the temple. However, the trust has not taken any decision yet. Only employees and priests over 60 years of age are prohibited from visiting the temple
