5 tips to put the routine aside and start the day well

Few people know, but the first minutes of the morning are the most important of the day: they define how your temperament and dedication will be to face the hours ahead.

You can see: if you get up early in a bad mood and full of problems to solve, your day will not be productive at all. You will not be able to focus on the tasks you have to do and the tendency is for everything to go wrong. The opposite is also true. If you are happy and ready to work when you wake up, everything tends to go as planned.

According to Entrepreneur columnist Drew Hendricks, taking steps after waking up makes your day better. Below, five tips that are worth following to make your routine healthier.

1. Before getting out of bed, relax for 15 minutes and stay away from technology

After the cell phone alarm or alarm goes off, indicating that it is time to get up, do not go on social media or check your email box. Preserving the first fifteen minutes of your day makes you able to relax and be prepared to face what lies ahead.
If possible, before sleeping, turn off notifications on your cell phone. That way, you won't be tempted to check the news as soon as you wake up.


2. Stretch when getting up

The best way to get out of bed is to stretch. Get up slowly, sit on the edge of the bed in an upright position and start to stretch. This makes your body ready and relaxed to put up with another day of work. Stretching your arms, legs and rotating movements with your hands, feet and head takes the pressure off your heart and is an easy ritual to start your day happier.

3. Instead of drinking coffee, drink warm water with lemon

According to Hendricks, the first drink of the day needs to be warm water with a fresh squeezed lemon. In addition to bringing countless health benefits, the mixture speeds up metabolism, burns fat, clears the mouth and throat and gives energy to face another day of work. For coffee addicts, this is a good way to decrease the body's caffeine.

4. Set goals for the day

While stretching in bed or preparing your lemon water, set three doable goals for the day. This can include your lunch, your exercises and even the medical appointment you are postponing. Achieving at least these three goals makes you feel that your days have been more productive. 

5. Meditate

Don't think that meditating takes a long time of the day. Meditation can be done in just a few seconds. Just sit in a comfortable position and be willing to clear your mind. Only the practice of breathing and exhaling calmly helps to maintain mental clarity and spiritual well-being.
